My New Best Friend

I have always been a lover of stationary.  Notebooks, pens, folders–those make me swoon.  I do most of my writing though on my laptop, but I can’t carry it around very easily.  And, as most writers know, ideas just happen and you need a place to put them.  I use my smart phone a lot, and I always carry a notebook, just in case.  But I dread the rewrite.  Going through scribbles of notes and making sense of it days later.  Well, that changed about a month ago.

I was in Walmart, looking around the craft section (my other addiction), when I passed by a display with notebooks.  “Oooohhhh, a new notebook!” I thought.  Ha!  It’s so much more!  It’s a RocketBook.  Looks like a notebook, feels like a notebook, can even use real pens like a notebook!  You download an app on your phone or tablet, set up where files are sent to (gmail, cloud, Google Drive, etc) by assigning them to icons.  You write in the notebook, fill in the icon on the bottom, then take a picture, and viola!  It’s sent to the desired location.  It even has handwriting recognition (which I am still learning, because I have messy writing when the thoughts start coming).  The best part…yes, there’s an even better part…you wipe the pages clean with a little water and a microfiber cloth.  It comes with the cloth, the Pilot FriXion pen, and notebook.  I got mine for just under $30.

I need to add that I am not getting paid for this in any way, I just wanted to share with my fellow writers a great tool to use.

I love the feel of writing, and the ease of writing–no need for batteries, a plug, etc.  But sometimes it can be a hassle to rewrite.  It fits easily in most purses and I just attach the pen the spine.  It has 36 pages as well.  I have included a picture of mine below.

So, here’s my first plug, I guess.  Hope someone out there finds it just as helpful as I do.
