Twitter-Verse

I have had a Twitter account (@cc_beau) for a while now. I wasn’t very active on it until last week. I finally realized that I needed to expand my social media presence.

It’s been an interesting experience. I wouldn’t have found out about things like #pitchwars, #MSWL, #writingcommunity…that has been amazing.

It’s quite different than Facebook, that’s for sure. It’s more instant. News travels fast and there’s no pause button.

I’m also fine-tuning who I am in the social media world. I do not share political things on it. I follow certain people who I agree with politically, but it’s more keeping up with what’s going on. I know that I want to keep my personal views off social media, that’s for sure. It can be so polarizing…no matter what the views may be. If I had a personal account, well, that’s different, I would share away. But this is my professional account and I want to keep it neutral. Not because I can’t roll with the punches, but because strangers or prospective working relationships don’t need to know. Which those that follow me on here and know me personally, know I love to talk about politics. Not so much from a
“MY VIEW IS BETTER THAN YOU” platform, but from a “politics is such an interesting topic.” And, well…I love talking about the BIG 3–sex, politics, and religion. So, keeping my mouth shut has been difficult at times.

And, man this week was…wow…quite polarizing to say the least. Between the Climate issues and impeachment talks…it was a landmine of potential twitter-wars.

Here’s some good stuff, though. The #writingcommunity is full of advice and people cheering each other on. And there’s this little thing I’m doing as well that I wrote about in another post.

I’m learning more about retweeting, following back, interacting on tweets. It’s been a learning experience.

I also have a professional Instagram account as well, CClabeau.author. I need to download Blog2Social to get my blog posts on it.
