Actually, we do.
Or more precisely, I do.
I was able to re-enroll at Eastern Michigan University (left in 2008 to care for my mom) for the 2020 summer semester. You would not believe the hoops I had to go through to be able to go back. Since I left without officially withdrawing, I was on Academic Probation, and I also was not able to pay my loans to keep them current, so I was in default. I began my back-to-school journey in 2019 and dug myself out of default, submitted appeal letters for both my grades and financial aid and by April of 2020, I was clear to register for classes.
My returning GPA was 1.88 (thanks to my last semester there) and I can proudly say that I have a 3.04 GPA. I have taken 10 classes since June 2020. I have missed school so much! Of course, since I was going to a school in Michigan, it was all online anyway for me, but due to the pandemic, I was able to take classes that wouldn’t normally be available online. Small blessings.
However, I knew that I couldn’t complete my desired degree solely online, so I applied to U of L and UK. I was accepted to both. I decided on U of L, mainly because of distance. I start back for the summer in June (online) and in person for the fall (OMG PEOPLE!!).
As of now, I am on break and my brain doesn’t know what to do. I have the list of books needed for the summer and fall and I am very tempted to get them now so I can read them.
I am still writing and thanks to my one class this past semester (Creative Writing), I was able to work on a short story and play with some ideas for the second book.
With my life getting some order now, I will be able to focus on writing more and keeping up with this blog. So, be prepared.
