Life after Lockdown

I will not bore you with yet another post on the Covid-19 pandemic or lockdowns, vaccines, masks, testing…You have probably read enough about it and more than likely have personal experiences with any of the many topics about it.

I will share some positives about my experiences during the pandemic, and yes, there has been some good that has come from it.

#1–BF and I have dove deeper into our passion about cooking. All thanks to America’s Test Kitchen. And yes, we did do a sourdough starter (like everyone else in the freaking world). But we feel in love with the ‘no knead’ bread recipe. I’ll share that recipe in another post.

#2–We have fallen down the Lego rabbit hole. I brought my Lego collection when I moved in with BF, but we have taken it to a whole new level. Marvel, NASA, Star Wars, Harry Potter. We follow Lego YouTubers. Have a BrickHound account. It’s bad. But in a good way.

#3–If it’s even possible, BF and I are even closer. Not just because he was furloughed for over 4 months (didn’t hurt), but because we talked more, shared more, and opened up more.

#4–My child has found a great therapist and slowly getting on the right meds to help. Although this past year has been hard on them, especially with the isolation. I see my child growing in a lot positive ways and realizing that they are loved by my BF and can trust him.

#5–I have cross-stitched too many things to count.

And lastly, even with all the crap going on, people are finally realizing that the world isn’t as big as we once thought. We have ALL been on this roller coaster together. Just look at the memes shared on Facebook and Twitter from different countries.
